Harry Potter Book 6 review

And seeing as I am close to 65 years old (HaHa), I am going to need some help remembering it.What are the important things to remember before reading book 7?I seem to remember something about Voldemort having broken his power into seven different pieces and imbedding them into objects. Harry destroyed one already,stop smoking, and Ron,quit smoking, Hermione and Harry were going to go off and destroy the others.Dumbledore died.What else?
