Concern about smoking ads.

Ok, I am not trying to hurt others who are trying to quit, but I wanted to raise this concern:Why is it that quit smoking ads are allowed to be aired, however smoking ads are not? I believe that this goes against my rights as a smoker. If I wanted to quit, I would look up such information, I do not need it shoved down my throat, as well as these ads being unwelcome in my house. Again, don't get me wrong, I believe that if you do want to quit, good on ya,quit smoking, and good luck. However, until the government makes tobacco illegal, it is still my right to smoke, and not have to listen to special interest groups whose only concern is how much certain companies are paying them. This is only my opinion, and probably my only post on this board, however I feel strongly about this, and feel that these commercials are attempting to make people quit, and take the choice out of our own hands.I do apologize for those who I have offended in this post, and wish all those who truly want to quit smoking the greatest of luck. I have been forced to quit twice (thanks to the Air Force,) and know how hard it is to quit. So once again, good luck to those who really want to quit.Sincerely,stop smoking,A happy smoker.
