fire
Coming home from vacation and parking, we noticed a heavy smoke smell. We were unloading our many bags and the smell enveloped the air, we didn't know if the fire was near us or not. The air was thick and heavy and I had trouble breathing, and I was worried for my 11 pound dog since his lungs are tiny, quit smoking, it must be harder for him. Being male my boyfriend wanted to run off and see where it was coming from. I thought best to get out of there as soon as possible. It was a claustrophic few minutes with the garage door closed but the smell coming in anyway. Turns out it was a 4 alarm firehttp://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?secti ... id=7457644We took our stuff and got into our apartment building around the corner. Imagine having lung cancer or emphysema. It must be a thousand times worse, the feeling of not being able to breathe. I now feel even more ridiculous than I did before. I have the choice to breathe in clean non toxic air and I willingly lit up nicotine filled sticked and inhaled it? Unbelieveable. It makes no sense and it speaks volumes about what a dangerous drug it is, that people get so addicted we would do something that makes no sense at all.Do I want to subject myself to that choking feeling again ? Nope, quit smoking now, it was scary. Not one puff.
