checking in (2)

Hey all my nosmoking buddies, smoking cessation, it's a week and a day post op....and I'm beginning to feel almost human again. I can be up a moving around for longer periods of time so hopefully that will allow me to be on the board more. Just to keep things interesting I had an allergic reaction to the pain meds but it took a couple of days to figure out that's what was going on because we were also in the middle of a 4 day heat wave so it' was hard to tell what was what. But aside from that I'm doing reasonably well, healing nicely and knock on wood no signs of infections so I've got no room to complain at all. I've only read a couple of posts but it seems like I've missed a lot! I know I've missed a lot of great anny's and for all of you celebrating (too many for me to list) a milestone big or small my heartfelt congratulations goes out to you. This quest to remain smokefree is always a journey and somedays a battle and each day that we don't smoke is a reason to celebrate.I sat in the yard last night for the first time since the surgery and just enjoyed breathing fresh air and the cool breeze...and felt bad that despite all her efforts Dawn has not been able to completely quit...she can go a week sometimes even two but as soon as she has an adult beverage she has to have a butt. But I noticed a change in myself...where as before I found myself being envious of her ability to smoke "part time" now I'm not...I was quite content as I am (and it has nothing to do with narcotics that I'm on LOL) Anyway - I've been up just about as long as I can stand for the moment...just wanted to pop in and say hello, thank you all again for the warm thoughts and well wishes, you're the best. For those of you residing in the midwest, my thoughts and prayers are with you,Herbal cigarettes, keep safe and take good care. Keep the quit, embrace the quit and protect the quit (as only you can!) Peace and magical moments my friends. cj
